General lab protocols

Welcome!

The major goal of the lab are to further our understanding of the developmental biology, genetics, and pathology of oomycetes, a group of filamentouns (fungus-like) eukaryotic microbes found throughout the world.

A second goal is to provide training and professional mentorship to junior scientists ranging from undergraduates to graduate students to postdoctorals.

Most of our studies involve the important plant pathogen Phytophthora infestans, which causes the late blight diseases of potato and tomato, although we sometimes study other oomycetes within the genus Phytophthora or Pythium.
